We’re off for a couple weeks, as we find rejuvenation in sand and sea, on streets and in bookshops, in stepping away from the everyday.
Look for new posts at the end of April!
How do you relax and refresh? What kind of break gives you the energy to return to your creative work with energy?

Enjoy! Just going to a new museum or location, even close to home, invigorates me. I’m planning a road trip to upstate NY to pick up my daughter — I’ll explore the Erie Canalway and it’s history, too, and hope to write about my adventures!

Jarm–that sounds like a lovely trip! I’m a sucker for a good museum too. Just being in a space set aside for art shifts my creative perspective.
My favorite museum for that is MASS MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) in North Adams, MA. Their room-sized installations are always astonishing.

My weekly Critique group gives me the motivation I need to move forward.

I love my critique groups too! I only manage two monthly groups. Meeting every week would sure keep me on track! Do you critique for every group member each week?

I just got back from a week long camping trip in Death Valley with my family. I can’t say that camping with nine year old twin boys is relaxing, persay, but being in nature is soul-replenishing! The books I write always seem to have an environmental theme so being in nature helps remind me why I write.
